H doujinshi I read this week: Mambiki JK Sei K-ON Bu

Ok, I’d have to say that this and the sequel are some weird K-ON doujinshi, but so weird I would suggest someone to just translate it in English because it might have prons but I’d think people would read it if it were in English. Since most doujinshi that get translated are either good or just weird. By weird, I mean it’s very Behind the Music like. At the end of both it centers around the cast having gone their separate ways after graduating. You find out Yui had become a singer but died, Ritsu is working for a moving company, Mio becomes either a shut in or lost it after Yui died, Azusa has become some kind of cat-girl singer depressed over the fact how she is third rate and Mugi is somewhere in London. Takotsuboya elaborates Yui’s death in a second issue. Causes were drug overdose. I don’t know if any others were made before these though. It’s just strange because K-On is such a happy show and to see this kinda stuff I can only sum up my feelings with the O_o emoticon, really.
Definitely the awesomeness of doujinshi. Just taking other people’s characters and making them do different stuff. I thought Mambiki JK Sei K-ON Bu was just fap fodder, but my interest was perked when I had seen the page about Yui dying. I checked out the other stuff Takotsuboya did and it all made sense. The group also did this one about Asahi as well. Once I knew this, all the story bits and oddities of the K-ON doujinshi made sense. To be honest, I really didn’t read either of them fully and was only checking through them for obvious reasons. I think I might just go back and read these fully some time though in the future. Yui dying of drug overdose and Mio going crazy are reasons enough to give it a chance.
Like all the doujinshi I read I go to E-Hentai.org.

Haha wow! Finally beat Evolution on the Dreamcast!
Wow, finally beat the end boss to Evolution on the Dreamcast. It took me 11 years of putting it off because I just couldn’t beat it back then in 1999. The end boss is just so ridiculous and gets 3 turns in a row at times. Not to mention this attack that adds poison. I had nothing to heal it, and it’s just a waste of a turn to use your mech stuff to heal it. Then when he is low on health he gets this one hit kill kinda move that was always killing me. Sometimes he’ll heal himself too. So damn cheap! It really didn’t help that my guys weren’t very geared I guess. I grinded to level 70 though. But now it is finally over. Now there is some kind of goal by getting rid of Mag’s new debt and such. Well, might as well do this too. I mean, how much worse could it get? When that’s done I can move onto the second game in the future. Finally I got Linear back. <3
I feel like I accomplished a great deal here… Some how this fact saddens me.
The Final Fantasy 13 soundtrack is the best overall FF soundtrack since 7
“I think [game music] is something that should last with the player. It’s interesting because it can’t just be some random music, but something that can make its way into the player’s heart. In that sense, this not only applies to game music, but I feel very strongly about composing songs that will leave a lasting impression…What I must not forget is that it must be entertaining to those who are listening. I don’t think there’s much else to it, to be honest. I don’t do anything too audacious, so as long as the listeners like it, or feel that it’s a really great song, then I’ve done my job. ”
— Yasunori Mitsuda
There I said it. Sure maybe the story and gameplay in 13 is bad according to Japanese players but I’d have to say the soundtrack is definitely worth listening to. It’s just got a lot of variation between tracks which is a fresh breeze from the bland marching band themes that all sounded the same in 12. Sorry, Hitoshi Sakimoto. I loved your score for Final Fantasy Tactics, but god damn what happened when you did 12? Admit it guys, 12’s was horrid. Aside from Symphonic Poem: “Hope” and Battle on the Big Bridge(which was just a variation of something Uematsu did), I listen to no other tracks frequently from 12. The thing is 12’s soundtrack isn’t easy listening and not really something worth listening to outside the game setting.
Regarding Uematsu, 8, 9 and 10 had okay soundtracks but I really only listen to very few tracks, but it’s not a feeling of aversion like with 12’s soundtrack. I’ll listen if they happen to show up on random, but nothing I really listen to frequently. Their soundtracks are okay. If anything I think 10 had the strongest soundtrack of the three listed. I’d go as far as saying 10 is probably Uematsu’s best of the next gen FF scores. 6’s still remain’s my favorite though.
Masashi Hamauzu, for a relative nobody that I have never heard of, did a really impressive job. For some reason, I get a Xenogears/Yasunori Mitsuda kind of vibe from many of the tracks. I don’t know why really. Maybe the random female chanting at times or whatever it is. I dunno. I just feel it at times. The quote above by Mitsuda is something I really agree with because music is also essential to the gaming experience. I’d say the Persona 4 soundtrack comes to mind here. I frequently listen to that soundtrack, and if it wasn’t what it is, I’d think I would have had a different kind of experience playing. Great overall album that has. I’m not sure what kind of gaming experience 13 has but if anything because of the music, I kinda want to give it a try now.
Well anyway, check out 13’s soundtrack. Listen to it. Enjoy it!
I liked Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu when it wasn’t so raunchy
It’s such a big turn off for me liking Purreza. Sure, the first season wasn’t the pinnacle of anime, but hey I liked the romance. I liked Haruka and Yuuto and the humorous situations they got into. First season was decent but jeez something happened and now season two is filled with a ton of pointless panty shots and sexual innuendo. I just sigh at every sexual thing that seemly shows up. It’s just such a shame. Why do this? Why? I’m only on episode 3 and I’m finding it very hard to deal with. I’m also having issues with this Rie Kugimiya character. Her personality just seems kinda out of place for now. This whole situation reminds me a lot of what happened with Ai Yori Aoshi. Decent romance anime show and then has a season two filled with zero story progression, tons of filler and a lot of fanservice stuff. That’s the kind of vibe I’m getting here with Purreza.
I don’t know if anime fans in Japan get off to seeing this kind of crap in their shows but I don’t. I don’t watch anime for this kind of stuff. If I wanted to see this stuff I’ll play an eroge or watch porn. Constant fanservice just degrades a show and is like a sign saying, “Hey, we’re not going to try and make a decent show. So here’s some panty shots instead.”
Durarara!! 04 – So what exactly is the time frame?
I don’t know about you but I had a hard time figuring out what time frame Selty became or realized her situation. At first I thought it was something like the 1800s or whatever like in Baccano. How they all became immortal and have been around for a while. Selty had been searching for her head for a long ass time too, I thought. You know, when she wakes up and she’s dressed kinda in a renaissance dress and then she wears armor. So, I thought, that she has been searching for a long time. But then she comes across recent technology suddenly so maybe she didn’t lose her head so long ago? And if Kishitani met her when he was four which he says was 20 years ago. So let’s say that it’s 2010 in the show. It was in the 1990s when Kishitani met her and there was that old guy. We don’t know how old he is so as far as we know he could have saw her as early as around the same time 20 years ago.
MAYBE they just didn’t really explain it well enough. Or perhaps this is part of the mystery. Kitshitani had said he was recording the details that he only had picked up. So maybe he doesn’t know much about her past. Not like Selty knows a whole lot about it to begin with. Interesting episode though. I didn’t think the motorcycle headless person had an actual personality. More Anri next episode. DO WANT.
GTO – Better than most stuff I’ve been watching lately
So I finished GTO up. My 300th anime to be honest, and it wasn’t too bad. I really don’t have the patience for these long ass shows anymore though. Especially when they’re long and boring. GTO wasn’t entirely boring but it did have its succession of episodes that just bored me. I don’t know why it is rated so high on MAL. 14th place just seems too high for this show. Sure, I’d say that the first 20 or so episodes are solid as rock. I laughed my ass off at them, and found them hilarious. I loved the interaction between Onizuka and the vice principal because as the viewer you know the vice principal hates Onizuka but Onizuka is so oblivious to it. Onizuka is always doing shit that pisses the guy off and that was hilarious to watch. I found the Toroko arc at the start pretty touching. The Urumi arc also surprised me because at first I hated Urumi and found her a total attention whore, but by the end of her arc I really understand what her problem was and it totally changed my perspective of her character.
But then the show got into some stuff about Fuyutsuki getting pranks pulled on her by female students and just random ass shit in the middle episodes. I found myself laughing less, and being bored. I just lost interest. Not even an off the wall character like Onizuka could save those episodes because it seemed to be less about him and his teaching job and more about boring ass characters and how Onizuka could help them.
The show started to pick up again when they all went to Okinawa. It was entertaining to see Noboru and Anko interact since it seemed like a Shinji and Asuka relationship. That was fun. The last two episodes were pretty solid too. In the end, I found GTO not that bad of a show. Definitely better than what I’ve seen in the past year, but I could find even better.
I wish Little Busters was a better song
I dunno Jun Maeda. I like Kanon’s, Air’s, and Clannad’s individual themes, but Little Busters’s main song just seems kinda blah. I love the lyrics though. The lyrics are great and really make me want to try the game out since they definitely reflect what Little Busters is about, but the song just doesn’t seem to have the same soundgasm (?) as say Tori no Uta or Meg Mel on first listen. Despite this, I’ve been listening to Little Busters a lot today. I think its the influence of all those anime stores in Japan having it on repeat all the damn time while I was there? Oh well, at least the EX version is a little better but not by much I’d say. I’m getting EX right now actually, but who the hell knows when I’ll actually try it. If you have to know, I really like Mio.
I’ve been getting a lot of VNs lately, but haven’t really tried any of them. I dunno what some people are thinking. Just dissing them because of the prons but I think some of them can be real good. I mean, Cross Channel has a great story and cast of characters. Besides, I really only like visual novels with actual gameplay like Rance or stuff by Softhouse Chara. I’ve been trying to break into actual story related only VNs as you can see by reading some of my entries. But rest assured that I never actually try any of those games that are just purely erotic. Those are stupid, and not entertaining.
Most of the games I have in store have some kind of gamplay. Dragon Knight 4, Rance 6, Koihime Musou (this does have gameplay right?), Seinarukana -The Spirit of Eternity Sword 2 (RPG style battles look fun, and looks real in depth to just be your run of the mill VN), and then this last one I just thought was humorous by the preview I watched on Getchu. It’s called Zettai Maou -Boku no Mune-kyun Gakuen Saga. So that’s that.
Visual novels really have been an untapped medium that I’ve been interested in but because of language barriers I never looked into them. But I was looking at them negatively, and thinking just because I somewhat understood Japanese, I still couldn’t try because I wasn’t 100% yet. I’ve found they’re actually not as bad as I thought, but could be due to my vocabulary grinding I’ve done in the past month. (Learning 1000 words a month, but probably could take it up a notch.) They make great vocab picking resources if you ask me. Well, that’s my two cents about that. If you have any games to recommend please comment!
Visual Novel Story Time: ALICE♥ぱれーど Part three
Kinda getting tired of this game but whenever I do go back to it, the weirdness of it kinda keeps me interested. Emudori is so weird, and hilarious but in a stupid sort of way. I really need to do something about making these summaries longer or something, but I figure I do how long that I go with each play. And who is to care if I get to part over 9000 anyway? This is MY blog, and it goes by MY rules. Lavinia uses honorifics. Hate that stuff. Also, she uses the word うぬ (unu). From context, it seems to mean “you” but probably in an insulting kinda way. Well, on with part three.
Part two of this series can be read here.
Way to screw up Clannad, Kyoani!

Yeah, I know what you’re thinking. This is pretty late to be saying this but I must say that Kyoani really screwed over the overall mood of Clannad. At least the school life bits. The school life bits just seem less annoying when you play the visual novel. The school life bits were what I hated about the Clannad anime because they turned it into some kind of harem comedy fanservice like show when it really wasn’t supposed to. I think I might have enjoyed the anime more if they spent more time developing Tomoya’s character as he interacted with Sunohara like in the visual novel.
I’m going to be honest, I have no fucking clue how far I am in the visual novel. It seems like a freaking long time because reading takes a while and I can only last so long. And so far where I’m at Tomoya has only really interacted with Sunohara, but like, from what I remember, Tomoya met all the girls off the bat. What the hell is with that? It’s honestly making me antsy because I really want Tomoyo to show up so I can get to the Tomoyo After Story. That was so sweet when I watched the OVA of it. Maybe I picked a wrong dialogue prompt somewhere? I have no clue. But, definitely one thing is for sure. Probably all the girls aren’t friends like they were in the anime.
From the visual novel, I really do get that sense that hey these guys hate school. They don’t care about their futures at all. Tomoya might make fun of Sunohara all the time, but he kinda gets sad when he doesn’t show up to school. The anime didn’t really convey that to me well enough from what I remember, but hell, it’s been a few years since I saw it anyway.
I have to say, the Game Book scene in the visual novel was fucking hilarious. That should have made it into the anime. At first I thought it was some kind of Tokimeki Memorial thing but then it turned into some kind of choose your own adventure thing with zombies. Funny stuff.
I really think I missed meeting Tomoyo because the Nets says I could have met her as early as Apr 15th but it’s the 21st from where I just stopped. Well, this sucks. I wonder what route I am going on then? Probably a Bad End. Tomoyo does have an After Story in the game, right? Oh, that is her arc that they animated. Huh, I had no idea. Hard to believe this game is 90 hours long. Is that typical for a visual novel? Fucking crazy Japanese script writers are. Definitely should be fluent after this shit. Need to try Little Busters next, but I can’t find the prons version anywhere.
Durarara!! – Mikado better get with Anri, you hear!

I want to see this pairing happen! Otherwise episode 3 was just a tease.
Also, why does it feel like ages since I’ve encountered a generally shy glasses girl in anime? Big breasted or not it’s a welcome change of pace. But why does it feel like such a long time? Oh, I know! Maybe because glasses went out of fashion 10 years ago.
