Please die in a school shooting AMERIKKKA
Well apparently even in the year 2007 America has the tightest anus in the universe when it comes to censorship and content.
Seven Seas Entertainment has decided not to publish its American edition of Nymphet. Seven Seas president Jason Deangelis told ICv2 that the company had decided “…it’s not appropriate for Seven Seas to publish Nymphet,” and that it would cancel its release of the manga.
Controversy had arisen because of Nymphet’s storyline, which featured a student’s romantic attraction to her teacher. DeAngelis initially released a statement (see “Jason DeAngelis of Seven Season Nymphet”) explaining the cultural context of the story in Japan, and why he thought the story was appropriate for North American audiences. He did, however, note that others did not necessarily share his views and that Seven Seas would explore the subject further. DeAngelis announced the change shortly thereafter.

I hope you’re fucking god damn happy ANN fags and that cock sucker Answerman. Shit fucking sucks. It’s so hypocritical that in AMERIKKKA it’s okay for risque scenes and violence to be in a PG rated movie, but OH NOES have a few little jokes about little kids and what not in a manga aimed for an OLDER AUDIENCE and that’s a NO NO. What I don’t understand is we’ve had this kind of shit all the time in manga from both sides. Sakura liking Yukito in Cardcaptor Sakura. Akane and Dr. Tofu in Ranma 1/2. What is the fucking big deal here? Also, how a bunch of older girls who are his students practically molest Negi a 9 year old in Mahou Sensei Negima. I really don’t see it.
I hate AMERIKKA. facepalm.jpg
a nation of ginormous hippo~crites…just look at what’s been going on the last 7 years…
older audience more like older audience who want to have sex with the main character
What?
amerika is dead in iraq and afghnistan
Wow, I sound so butt hurt reading this a few months later.
So..
when’s the last time you pleasured a woman, Koji?
PhosphorusGL@ I can’t remember.
I am still annoyed about America’s Seven Seas Entertainment censoring the entire English-speaking manga market all this time later. Who are they to deem inappropriateness? I am a grown woman and know my own mind. Contrary to what they like everyone to believe, people who looked forward to the release are not all pedophiles.
What I find amusing is that Seven Seas has no problem cornering the market on Yuri. The problem with releasing Kodomo no Jikan was to protect American children from “bad” subjects. I know a lot of American parents who wouldn’t like Yuri being available where their children could see it…
Trust me, that will go soon too.
Luckily I don’t live in America.
