Nanatsuiro Drops 9-12

I’ve been wanting to finish this show for a while so I just went ahead and got the Aquastar subs. They’re just as good as Kedex’s.

I dunno. Nanatsuiro Drops isn’t anything great but I really ended up liking it and I’m glad. They don’t really develop the other girls all that much which is a shame because they’re probably pretty good characters too. I’m actually kinda interested what Yuuki’s and Yaeno’s paths are like in the game. Though, I can’t see Tsuwabuki with anyone but Sumomo-chan. Speaking of Yaeno, she reminds me of Kotoko from Tokimeki Memorial 2. The dedicated friend minus the thundere personality. Rather maybe she is more tsundere in the game? She did seem kinda tsundere in the first episode?

I don’t really end up liking the lead female character in these kinds of things but I really ended up liking Sumomo-chan a lot. It’s like she doesn’t even have the qualities of being a lead heroine which is probably why I like her. She’s short, a little shy, cutesy/child-like, a crybaby, and sentimental. Personally, I’ve seen more of those qualities in secondary characters than the lead. Maybe I just don’t play enough recent eroge? I have no idea what’s popular anymore. Sigh… Even in Tokimeki Memorial I never liked Shiori either, but she’s a lot different from Sumomo. Heroines have changed. People used to like the super smart, and good at everything heroine. Now even characters like Sumomo-chan have a chance.

To be honest, I didn’t watch this show for the plot or anything. The plot was pretty generic. The whole collect the stardrops thing which was mainly a contest anyway. Mainly the relationship between Sumomo-chan and Tsuwabuki kept my interest. They’re so cute together. I am a sap for these kinds of things, you see.

When Sumomo-chan was recalling all the things she did with Yuki-chan and after she found out he was Tsuwabuki, that part was hilarious. So basically, she changed clothes, took baths and what not with Yuki-chan without knowing it could possibly be her boyfriend. Haha.

The whole I will forget you thing reminded me of another anime which I can’t seem to remember which anime it was. I know I watched something similar where the person forgot but then SOMEHOW remembered their memories. So I wasn’t too afraid of Tsuwabuki forgetting his time with Sumomo-chan because there is always a GOOD END.

In the end, I don’t think this show was a failure adaption granted I have never played the game. I know without a doubt the game is better, but on it’s own I wouldn’t say the anime adaption is bad. There are a lot worse. (See Kakyuusei 2 or Yoake Mae Yori Ruri Iro Na -Crescent Love-). I wouldn’t rank Nanatsuiro Drops up there with Kanon (remake, of course), Air, Shuffle, and probably Clannad but somewhere just below those.

Well, it’s certainly time to go through the game and get Sumomo-chan’s GOOD END.
