Tsubasa Chronicle – The pain is over… FOR NOW

Finally finished season 2 which was a crock of shit till the end. I really don’t understand it. I liked the OVAs which I will talk about in a bit, but both seasons of the TV series sucked so much. How is Bee Train still around producing anime when the stuff they produce sucks? I have never enjoyed a Bee Train show, and the few shows I have experienced by them just keep me away from watching other stuff by them.

DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS RUBBISH. IT’S A TRAP! The user was obviously high when he watched Season 2.

I don’t even know why I continued to watch it. I just had to finish it, but it’s so forgettable and nothing of worth really happened even in the end. I want my time back! ORZ

Oh, god the OVAs were awesome which makes me assume that it’s not Tsubasa Chronicle that is boring it’s just Bee Train who sucks. Very good stuff going on in the OVAs that KEPT my attention. I’m a little angry about the whole cloning stuff going on and from what I’ve been hearing, Tsubasa Chronicle is a direct sequel to CCS. Syaoran is the son of Sakura and Syaoran. Although, I’m not exactly sure how it all fits or whatever since I’m not really interested in the manga. I will probably never acknowledge Tsubasa Chronicle as a sequel to CCS because CCS is a classic and Tsubasa is just milking off previously made stuff.

CLAMP should really just disband and do character designs or whatever they’ve been doing lately with their involvement with Code Geass and other anime. CLAMP used to make some awesome stuff. They got me into shoujo and mahou shoujo but Tsubasa Chronicle is just horrible. It shits all over their best work. Oh, I’ve gone into my CLAMP is dead to me spiel.

OVAs were awesome just watch those.

That whole segment really made up for all the trouble of going through S2. Sakura sure got roughed up bad. Good thing too because she was utterly useless for 52 episodes + 2 OVAs.

YOU IDIOT! YOU JUST RUINED THE ENTIRE FUCKING MANGA FOR ME THANKS! NEXT TIME MARK YOUR SPOILERS ASSHOLE. AND SECONDLY, YOU WENT FROM FUCKING TRASHING BEE TRAIN, WHICH WAS RIGHTLY DESERVED, TO BASHING CLAMP AND TRC WHICH MAKES YOUR WHOLE ARGUMENT REALLY SHITTY AND JARRING, SO I SUGGEST EITHER NOT READ CLAMP SERIES’S, OR SUCK IT UP.

  2. Koji Oe Says:

    Inuhanyou@ Spoilers lol

I forgot there are people out there that mind spoilers. Oh well, that comes at your own discretion to read or not.

I do still like reading their manga… even though it is just piling on big reveal and big plot twist on one after the other…

I made it through the first season and skimmed the rest until something actually interesting came up.. I didn’t watch it again till the OVAs…

Series just wasn’t interesting to me as much… but if more OVAs were to come out.. XD

  4. Koji Oe Says:

Deranged@ Yeah, I probably watch more if they were on the level of the OVAs.

  5. Dancing Queen Says:

oh who cares about spoilers, you were going to find out anyways. <-directed at your lovely commentors

    i agree i couldn’t even finish TC season 2
it was terrible and the story was just so boring, it was lets go here, find feather, leave. over and over again. the OVAs were awesome CAUSE THEY ACTUALLY HAD SOMETHING GOING ON!!!

i’m surprised you finished the entire thing, i was wondering if you were going to maybe say it redeemed itself at the end since again i didn’t finish it. i might pick up manga scans to get caught up on the “ACTUAL STORY” since the anime was all fluff and filler…

Koji Oe@ just curious, did you watch the OVA’s because of my comments (saying how much better the OVA’s were), or were you going to watch them anyway?

Yeah to be honest, I am leaning more towards that guy with the biased review- heck if it was my first anime, I know for a fact I would give it the same rating, so he’s probably just a newbie. Even now I would give the anime 5/10, guess I gotta stop watching crap and raise the bar on quality…

It would be interesting is TC was the sequel to CCS, but there’s a couple things that don’t add up:

    (1) she’s (presumably) about the same age as Syaoran (the one in TC, so he couldn’t be her son.

    (2) In present day (in the anime/manga) she couldn’t be more than 16 or so yrs. old- way too young to (normally) have a baby, much less her baby (appearing to) be the same age as her.

it still is an interesting thought though, it would definitely add a lot of depth and drama (read:Syaoran Sr. dead) to the plot. Both (1) and (2) could be resolved if Sakura turned out to be (through her special universe changing powers) actually immortal and not know it. This actually would make things very interesting, because…

It would explain [antagonist] Clow’s obsession with not only obtaining her power, but with “the miracle” (he wanted to see how the “miracle” would end, and after finding out they ended up dying again, when his assistant (read: other clone) asked if the result was satisfying, he said “It went as expected” (but his actions say otherwise, with his glass of wine broken and spilled on the floor.)

this leads me to believe that Sakura might be immortal and just not know it, and Clow wants that power. well, maybe I’m just looking to deep into it, but it would be very interesting if that was the case.

ps., the manga is far better. I have not actually read it, but I “spoiled” myself (courtesy of Wikipedia), and just from what I’ve read (which clearly represents a *small* fraction of how good it actually is) The plot depth and the level and amount of the plot twists is pleasantly staggering- so much I can’t wait to read the manga.

TC likely has more crossover elements/characters from more other manga by the same group that any other manga ever, so it’s obvious that they are “milking their own cow”, but they well make up for it. TC continued long after Bee train stopped their run, which makes it clear that they knew they had totally failed, and decided to quit while they were ahead, which was naturally after the hype died down.

Syaoran is indeed the son of Sakura Kinomoto and Syaoran Li (as explained in Chapter 189), and Sakura’s powers are apparently more awesome than expected, but I don’t want to spoil more than I have…really can’t wait to read the manga to the end- should be able to get up to date before they finish the final arc…

Ah..my God guys. Personally, I thought the series was okay. I watched most of the episodes on youtube and it wasn’t that bad. But compared to the manga, you’re right. It does suck. I’m more of a manga reader anyway. I mean, I hated how they added new characters that don’t appear in the manga. Now the OVA’s were frickin’ sweet. If they make an anime, don’t cut out all the awesome stuff that’s in the book. If anything, make it the exact words and everything from the book so people can see them actually talking and in color. That’s what they basically did for the OVAs. I loved Sakura-chan in the Tokyo Arc! x3
[lol. but yeah i think you should have marked for spoilers but you're right. they come on these sites to read up on an anime, there are gonna be at least some spoilers. what an idiot.] I read it online. I just can’t help it like everyone else who likes this manga series.
Anyway, I don’t really watch anime anymore but everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Don’t say crap like you did when you underlined the guy’s sentence and said that it was all rubbish. EVERYONE has their own opinion. Don’t judge someone else’s. If you think it sucks, just say it. Don’t say someone else’s opinion’s a peice of shit. If he thought it was great, don’t tell others not to listen to him because there’s other people out there that thought it was an awesome series.

I have to agree with you that TRC the anime kind of sucked. Then again, it’s nowhere near the manga (which I am following right now and waiting impatiently for, along with xxxholic). I wish you’d change your mind about the manga, though. It’s really nice, though you need to read xxxholic alongside it since they kinda supplement each other now.

I’ve never been much of a manga fan, either. But guess why I am doing it for TRC and xxxholic this time?

(SPOILERS UPCOMING, don’t want to piss anyone off)

It’s because of CCS. My closure was disrupted when I learned that the real Syaoran of TRC was the son of Li Syaoran and Kinomoto Sakura in CCS. And, more news…Kimihiro Watanuki of xxxholic is also their son, replacing “Syaoran” after he rewound time. And, supposedly, the CCS couple’s dead…But since the time flow is kinda abnormal with all the rewinding, I’m hoping that CLAMP hasn’t really killed them off, or I’d go on a rampaging killing spree.

Still, I’d recommend the two series to CCS fans, just so you know what happens to your favorite couple.

    :)
