Just finished season two of Zero no Tsukaima. I probably won’t pick up season 3 until I get back from Japan, but I just wanted to be ready for it when I want to watch it. So, on the whole it was kinda enjoyable. I would put it this way, beginning is hilarious with a dash of serious business. The middle is like where did Saito and Louise go? It didn’t even center around them at all which is odd because a show usually centers around, you know, the freaking MAIN CHARACTERS the show is NAMED AFTER. The end is like all this honor, aristocrat and dying serious business, basically.
Although, on the whole season two was fairly enjoyable. About the same rating as season one, I’d say. A good mix of action, story, and fanservice, which is really the only reason to watch Zero no Tsukaima. One of my main things that I don’t get is everyone that I asked said, “ZOMG DON’T EXPECT PLOT! IT’S ALL BOOBZ AND FANSERVICE!” …right. Sure, S2 doesn’t really ADD anything to the plot but it sure isn’t all fanservice and boobs. It really wasn’t any more or less than what was in season one. So, I guess I was kinda pleased it wasn’t a total waste of a season.
Although, the sad part is the season was a total waste plot wise. As mentioned before, S2 really doesn’t add anything to the plot. The first five episodes or so are actually not bad. Episode four where Louise, Saito and Siesta go to Louise’s house was my favorite. It was funny and Saito did some great stuff LIKE MAKING A LOVE DECLARATION, which I really didn’t except to happen so soon in the series. But then the middle episodes 6 to 9 center around a side plot involving Anies and Colbert. Louise and Saito really take the backseat for these two. I mean, it was kinda cool to find out Colbert wasn’t just some bold dude, but still… It kinda felt like filler to me. The end episodes weren’t that bad. I really liked the last episode. It was nice with the mock wedding kinda thing and what not. Saito was real GAR also. Dodging arrows with his sword, killing demons, having a death wish and such. It was awesome. I actually slightly BAWWW since they make it seem like Saito died, but I knew he really wasn’t dead.

Character wise, I think I have greater respect for Louise than I did from season 1. From season one, I pretty much had the impression that she was just some pink haired loli looking girl who is very combative all throughout the show. Season 2 kinda made me see the sweeter side of her, I suppose, and it’s probably due to her realizing her feelings for Saito. Now, if only she wasn’t so damn combative all the time I think I would like her more. My impression of Siesta changed in this season. Siesta is a slut. Such a god damn slut. She just wants to get in Saito’s pants so BAD, and she is doing anything she can to do that. Damn it doesn’t she have any respect for herself? Also, what the hell happened to Tabitha and Kirche in season 2? Man, definitely not enough of those two at all. Also, I know she’s a megas side character but I really want more Montmorency in the plot. Pantyhose~
I guess that’s all I have to say about this show. It’s wasn’t bad it wasn’t excellent. It was pretty decent like the first season. Kinda looking forward to seeing more of this “fairy” girl who is voice by teh Mamiko Noto in season 3.

For me zero no tsukaima is a cookie-cutter of other harem animes and lacks originality, the characters aren’t unique, is a so-so anime.
