Looking forward to Konami’s Love Plus

From left to right: Rinko, Nene, Manaka
I am so hyped about this game. I really hope I’m not let down on tremendous levels like I was with Idolm@ster on the PSP. I mean, it was kinda cool, but the real place you want to play Idolm@ster is on the 360 or in the arcades. Anyway, Love Plus is Konami’s recent to be released love simulation game. Konami is well known for it’s Tokimeki Memorial series, and such so this is a pretty big deal. According to Canned Dogs, Famitsu gave it a 32/40. Not bad I say, but I usually never really listen to reviews anyway. But to say the least this is promising.
I had written about Love Plus earlier from my readings of G’s Magazine. It really explains some of the basic game play you’ll find in Love Plus so check it out. I like how there is content for everyday of the year and the game never ends. With a ton of voice clips, events and what not that is a lot of content for a DS game. The game never even really begins until you pick one out of the 3 girls. I’ll probably go for the upperclassmen girl, Nene. She looks cute, and so does the main girl, Manaka, but she just seems kinda plain. I think Rinko has the greatest potential to be the most unique out of all 3 girls. Her appearance is just not something I like though, but considering how you can work on changing that it might not be an issue. I guess I’ll just have to wait until I get the game and go with my initial moe feeling.
I find it kinda weird how the girls change themselves to fit your tastes. I mean, if I was dating a girl I wouldn’t want her to change herself because of me… Okay, I lie. I wonder if they have shy personality/glasses option? Hrm. I wonder how that will be? Least that gives them the option to have more character types without having to really make more characters.
I really like this idea that Konami has for this game, and this is the kind of innovation I have been talking about that needed to come to the genre. I hope it catches on into something cool because Konami is really pushing for this game to sell well. Who knows they might make a sequel which is so freaking over 9000 awesome. It worked with Tokimeki Memorial 2 so you never know. As the company that started Tokimeki Memorial way back when, I have faith in them. I just hope people don’t lose faith in me when they see me communicating to a 2D girl on my DS screen. Haha.
