Actually, the Alien Nine OVA is a fine adaptation of the manga - for what it does adapt. It stops at a random point about 1/3rd through volume 2, turning something that was never meant to be a cliffhanger of any sort into a devastating one.

I would suggest you read the manga, but it is unfortunately rather difficult to find now; in fact, I had to buy the R1 DVD boxed set in order to obtain it several years ago. I have no idea if that's still in stock anywhere, but it's your best bet if you want to read it at some point.

Also I would avoid reading anything on that fan site. The essays appear to be written by people who have only seen the anime, and furthermore...

Well, Alien Nine is one of my favorite manga because I can read it again and again and get something entirely different out of it each time. I honestly think that trying to "interpret" it past a certain point is rather a waste of time. Tomizawa's abstract method of story-telling is taken way too far in Milk Closet, but I think that he really managed to nail this vague, wonderful sort of poignancy in A9 - a poignancy that disappears if you try to write essays about it.

Anyway, your reaction is pretty standard for someone who has only watched the OVA, given the immensely bizarre stopping point that JC Staff chose. It would be awesome if you could be one of the few people who went beyond what the OVA had to offer, though, and picked up the manga, so I really do urge you to consider doing so.

Well, I suppose that's enough random evangelism for now.

I'm very sick of the designs of Aoi Nishimata AND Noi"J"i Ito.
First of all, Aoi only knows one style and mood for the eyes (which where Noiji Ito is good at). Both of them share LOLIstic drawing style, which I find very immature to use particularly on H-games. Noiji Ito also sucks in coloring (specifically the skin, which looks like they got Hepatitis B)Aoi has better coloring than most artist.

Also, they both suck in drawing HOT bodies. Don't get me wrong,I still prefer Mitsumi Misato and Bekkankou but the one I like the BEST is Hiro Suzuhira, she draws gorgeous face,a mouth-watering body and also brilliant in coloring but only moderate in terms of fashion.

P.S.-Does anyone of you know where to direct download fortune arterial hcg? :)

I have the boxset of this series. I saw a few eps as a child and later when I grew up and had money to blow, I bought this along with any series I missed out on as a kid. Glad you enjoyed it.

I also put down when I watched it (or, when I finished it, as some longer shows can be tricky...) to sit and go "oh yeah, I must have been on a real moe kick Fall 2007...." or "Yeeeeeah...I was in a dark place last May..." I'm also a dork and list whether or not it's a re-watc and how I obtained them, be it DVD or rentals or streaming or downloading...Still a little mad that Crunchyroll went all corporate....

Yeah, I want to list them by year soon because I'm interested to see what I've seen more of. I'm thinking of doing that when I reach 300 shows.
